Call for Submissions!

Your story matters!!   Through May 21, 2017, Grab Back Comics is accepting submissions of original comics on the topics of sexual assault, harassment, rape culture, or advocacy. Submissions will be posted on the Grab Back Comics website and included in a printed anthology that will be presented at the Comics & Medicine conference in Seattle in mid June.  I will also mail each contributor 3 free copies of the printed comic.

Story + Artist Matchups: If you have a story to tell but don’t want to draw it yourself, or if you would like to draw a story but don’t have one to tell, let me know! I’m doing story + artist matchups! Email me at grab.back.comics (at) gmail.com

Size: Please format images to 4.5″w x 7.5″h maximum per page. This will be printed on 8.5 x 11″ paper, folded in half, like a typical mini-comic.

File type and resolution: 300 dpi jpg files.

Color: B/W is preferred (to keep printing costs low), but there will be a limited number of color pages — if your comic requires color, please let me know as soon as possible that you would like to reserve color page(s).

Page number: Comics can be up to five pages (or more, if there is space).  The maximum length of the book is 36 pages.

Can I submit previous published work?  Absolutely!  Please confirm that you have permission to reprint the material.

Will I get paid for my work?  You will receive 3 free contributor copies.  I am funding the printing out of my own pocket, so I can’t offer payment for contributions at this time. The comics will also be posted on the blog, including links to your website and social media.

Send submissions to grab.back.comics (at) gmail.com

I am so excited to see your work!
